There are two types of emergency contraception, emergency coil or emergency pills.

PEP must be started within 72 hours of exposure.
We are closed on weekends, bank holidays and the first and third Wednesday afternoon of each month from 1pm.
Alternatives: walk-in centres or A&E. If you have a needlestick injury please contact your workplace occupational health team or attend A&E, we do not provide this service.

If you have been sexually assaulted don't be afraid to get help.
You don't have to report the assault to the police if you don't want to. However, you should consider getting medical help as soon as possible for any injuries and because you may be at risk of pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections (STI’s).
If you want the crime to be investigated, the sooner a forensic medical examination takes place, the better. We are unable to collect forensic evidence within our services and would advise if you wish to have a forensic examination to contact the centres below or the police as soon as you are able.

If you do not wish to attend a SARC or MSAS we would advise that you attend our service as soon as possible. So, we can assess you for any immediate sexual health care that you require. You can walk in to Buryfields, Guildford or Earnsdale, Redhill at the times specified below, or if you prefer you can book an appointment using the links below. Alternatively, you can see your GP or attend A&E.

The Young Peoples Clinics are on Tuesday afternoons 3pm-6pm for patients aged 13-19 years old, providing all sexual health services including PrEP, general contraception and implants. Appointments can generally be booked up to two weeks in advance.

If you have no symptoms you can request an online kit posted to your home address, attend a young people’s clinic or book a clinic appointment in our general service.
These services are for patients with no symptoms and is restricted by your postcode of residence. If you are not a Surrey resident then you should be able to order an online kit from your county of residency. If your Surrey postcode is not accepted, or you do not wish to have it delivered to your home address or if you have had difficulty using the kit you can make a clinic appointment.

If you have no symptoms and aged under 25 years old you can request an online kit for chlamydia and gonorrhoea posted to your home address.

If there is any risk of pregnancy, an implant will not be fitted on the day.

This service is funded to provide contraception care for people at risk of unplanned pregnancy. This service unfortunately is unable to provide hormone replacement therapy (HRT) including contraception for those 55 years or older.
This includes fitting a new coil or replacing a coil for HRT purposes, for example replacing a Mirena coil at 5 years for HRT purposes as the Mirena coil provides eight years of contraception cover.
If you require HRT then please contact your GP.
If you have a coil fitted and wish to have it removed only then we are able to provide this service for you, please return to the previous page and select coil removal only.
A subdermal implant is a long acting reversible method of contraception (LARC).
Before attending an appointment to have an implant fitted, please watch the short video on the CNWL website prior to booking this appointment.
If there is any risk of pregnancy, an implant will not be fitted on the day.
Implants last for 3 years, after this they need to be replaced, or another method of contraception used. Think about what alternative method you might want if appropriate, for other contraceptive choices please visit here.

The staff will assess your suitability for a coil and refer you to an appropriate fitter dependant on your medical needs, the fitting will take place at another appointment. If a coil is not suitable for you they will advise on alternative contraception.
