Hot summer. Safer choices. Make sexual health part of your summer plans.
25 June 2026

This summer, Surrey Sexual Health is encouraging everyone to make simple, informed choices to help protect themselves and their partners.
The latest UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) data shows that while overall STI diagnoses across England have fallen, young people aged 15–24 continue to experience the highest rates of sexually transmitted infections. Chlamydia remains the most commonly diagnosed STI, accounting for almost half of all diagnoses.
Closer to home, Surrey's new Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategy highlights recent rises in STI diagnoses, lower-than-target chlamydia detection rates in young women and the importance of increasing awareness of local sexual health services.
Summer plans? Pack these essentials.
Alongside your sunscreen, sunglasses and phone charger, don't forget to think about your sexual health.

This could include:
- Condoms
- Contraception
- Home STI testing kits
- PrEP, if you're eligible
- Knowing where your nearest sexual health clinic is
Whether you've started a new relationship, had unprotected sex, or simply haven't been tested in a while, getting tested is one of the easiest ways to look after yourself.
Getting tested is quick, free and confidential
Many sexually transmitted infections don't cause symptoms, so regular testing is the only way to know your status.
Surrey Sexual Health offers:
- Free and confidential STI testing
- Home testing kits
- Contraception appointments
- HIV testing
- PrEP assessments
- Friendly, non-judgemental advice
Testing is quick, confidential and available to anyone who needs it.
