Bloomsbury Clinic Updates | Autumn 2025
We're making some changes to the Bloomsbury Clinic this month and wanted to tell you about them.
All information about the changes is available below.
- Request prescriptions, appointments and more online
-
We’ve made it easier to contact the clinic. In addition to our phone line, you can now use our online request form.
- The form can be completed at any time.
- Your request will be directed straight to the right team, so it can be handled more quickly.
- Sexual health screening
-
When you attend for blood tests or an appointment with your clinician, you can also have a sexual health screen.
We are now offering sexual health screening outside of routine appointments, at times that suit you.
- We recommend a screen at least once a year for all our patients.
- If you have new or multiple partners, we recommend screening every three months.
You can book your sexual health screen here or via our homepage.
- We’re upgrading our health records system
-
In September 2025, we are moving to a new health records system.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Why are you changing systems?
- To improve your care — making it safer, more joined-up, and more efficient.
- How might this help me?
- Better communication: With your consent, your records can be shared with other services, including your GP.
- Safer care: Clinicians will see a more complete picture of your health.
- Less repetition: Fewer duplicate tests, as results can be shared.
- Fewer delays: Appointments, results, prescriptions, and referrals are easier to track.
- Future benefits: More features may be introduced, and we’ll keep you informed.
- Is my information still private?
- Yes. The new system meets strict NHS security standards and data protection laws.
- When registering you on the new system, we will check your details with the NHS Spine. If your GP information is different, we’ll update our records and confirm this with you at your next visit.
- We’re also simplifying our consent process. This means we may need to ask you again for permission to:
- Send you letters and texts
- Share important information with your GP about your treatment
- Do I need to do anything?
- No. We’ll manage the change for you.
- We may temporarily reduce the number of appointments during the transition.
- We’ll contact you directly if your appointment is affected.
- You can check back here for further updates.
