HIV Services at Buryfields Clinic

Important Coronavirus information

If you have well controlled HIV and have received a text telling you to shield, please ignore it unless you have one of the conditions listed here. Please follow the advice from the British HIV Association and Terrence Higgins Trust.

Please do not attend the clinic for appointments or tests unless you have been advised by us to attend. All consultations will be by telephone and we anticipate most people can have tests deferred safely.

Please make sure you have at least a 30-day supply of medication and contact us if you have less than this. If someone needs to collect your medication from clinic for you they will need you name and date of birth.

If you have a booked clinic appointment please do not attend in person unless advised to - you will be phoned by a member of staff close to your planned appointment time.

  1. Unless you have been instructed specifically by a member of staff to attend, please do not attend for pre-appointment bloods.
  2. If you are due a virtual appointment (email or telephone) we will be in touchbut if you do not hear from us please call 07808 894122 to make sure your contact details are up to date and to arrange a call; do not attend for pre-appointment bloods unless instructed otherwise.
  3. If you are running low on medication please call 07808 894122

If you or someone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in a high risk group please follow NHS advice: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/.

Currently there is no evidence to say if people with HIV are at higher risk of COVID-19, or of severe disease. The British HIV Association updates their advice on a regular basis: https://www.bhiva.org/Coronavirus-COVID-19
